The Groom

As I stand at the alter
My knees Knocking
My head soar
I think to myself
What have I done
What am I doing

Will she love me always
and forever
Will i be able to take care of her
What will the boys think

She’s so beautiful
She’s so sweet
I am sure she loves me

As the vicar say do you take this women
I blurt out I DO
She smiles at me
I win Hands down
Till death us do Part

The Bride

As I stand at the alter
My belly all of a flutter
My legs like jelly
I begin to think

Will he always love me
Will he care when I am old and grey
Will he cherish me when I am ill and frail
Of cause he will

He is so sweat
He is so kind
He loves me dearly
He is that best friend of mine

Do you take this man to be
You wedded husband.
He turns to me and smiles
My doubts subside
I do I cry

I now pronounce you man and wife
The vicar cried
I am now his wife
To have and to Hold
for Life

70

The first ten went quick
so fast I can not remember them
The next ten years went quicker still
With help from girls and booze

Ten years later and the chains are on
no more girls less booze.
Better meals and comfy cushions

At thirty plus its family time
Crying girls and sulky boys
No holidays abroad just
rain shores

Ten years later
It’s Middle edge spread
and over the hill
The young man’s gone
grey hairs appear
Times a slowing.

Ten more years
I think I am getting old
The musics rubbish
the cloths are old.
The coppers are young
the vicars old.

Ten more years and retirements due
Grand kids come then they go.
I start to remember when I was young
but I still can not remember when I was ten.

Ten more years have gone
Time to relax
The job is done
No more sulking nor more crying
The gran kids have gone
OH NO Great grand kids.
Benidorm here I Come

Is she beautifully of course she is

The sun rose and filled the room
My  eyes slowly opened
As I rubbed the sleep from my eyes
I look to my right to see my love
Hair all disheveled Make up gone
Is she beautifully of course she is

I spend the day doing things that i do
I am called for dinner and their she is
Flour on her face pinie on
A smile on her face
Is she beautifully of course she is.

The day wears on  all jobs done
The telly is on tea is severed
Steaming tea and hot bread
no make up yet  but all the same
Is she beautifully of course she is.

Out for the night down the pub
Shes on G and T its a  Pint for me
Around the pub are may women
Some are plain some beautiful
But are they as beautiful As my love
of course not  the question is
Is she beautifully of course she is.

Back from the pub
The day is over once again
A cup of tea and off to bed
I snuggle down beside my love
the make up gone the nightie on
again i reflect
Is she beautifully of course she is.

She is my love and  I love her true
She is my soul mate and i love her do
When we are old I will love her still
Is she beautifully of course she is
